Bio
Francis Lovehall is a Jamaican-British actor based in London. He was born and raised in Jamaica and later moved to the UK; he graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in 2019.
He initially trained and performed in theatre; his professional stage debut was in a production of A Midsummer Night's Dream, before transitioning into screen acting.
His screen debut came in 2020, when he portrayed Reggie in Small Axe (‘Lovers Rock’), the anthology series from Steve McQueen.
Since then, Lovehall has built a growing and varied résumé. He has appeared in productions including Death on the Nile, His Dark Materials, and had a starring role in the musical-drama series Champion (2023).
Most recently, he has taken on a leading role as Alec Munroe in the upcoming drama series A Thousand Blows for Disney+, a historical boxing-themed story set in Victorian London.
Lovehall has been recognised as one of the rising talents of his generation. In 2022, he received a nomination for Emerging Talent at the Evening Standard Theatre Awards for his performance in the play Red Pitch at the Bush Theatre.
