Bio
Michael Workéyè will next appear in Aidan Zamiri’s The Moment for A24, as part of an ensemble including Charli XCX and Alexander Skarsgård, as well as Everybody Wants to Fck Me* for LuckyChap and Film4, featuring Taron Egerton.
He first drew wider attention with This Is Going to Hurt (BBC) and My Lady Jane (Prime Video), performances that established a naturalistic, instinct-led screen presence. He has since built an eclectic body of work across film and television, including Black Mirror (Netflix), Dreaming Whilst Black (BBC/A24), The Stolen Girl (Disney+), The Girlfriend (Prime Video), Bookish (CBS) and Lynley (BBC), moving fluently between drama, comedy and genre.
Workéyè trained at ArtsEd in London, where he received the Lilian Baylis Award and was shortlisted for the Spotlight Prize.
Alongside his screen work, he maintains a strong theatrical presence. His breakout performance in Beru Tessema’s House of Ife at the Bush Theatre, directed by Lynette Linton, earned Offie and Stage Debut Award nominations.
Further theatre credits include Shed at the Royal Exchange and Paldem by David Jonsson, which premiered to critical acclaim at the Edinburgh Fringe.
He will also be seen in Duncan Jones’s forthcoming feature Rogue Trooper, alongside Jack Lowden and Hayley Atwell. He stars in the Channel 4 comedy Break Clause, due to be released this year.
